Sadie Amara Calvano has become popular for her role as Violet Plunkett that she played on the CBS sitcom Mom. Calvano was born in California, and initially was interested in competitive gymnastics. But she decided later to pursue a career in acting. Her first screen appearance was an episode from 2010 on CBS's 'NCIS. The actress made her debut on the big screen a year after in the biographical drama "J Edgar". Through the years, she established herself as one of the most prestigious performers of the day. She was nominated in the year 2011 for the Young Artist Award in the category of the Best Performance by Young Actresses aged 11-15 for her work in NCIS. In 2013 she was also nominated for another Young Artist Award for her guest appearance in Disney XD's comedy series 'Kickin' It'. Calvano was a part of Mom's initial three seasons, and she also appeared in several episodes during the fourth. Calvano's performance being a rising star on Mom earned her an award called the Gracie Allen Award, which is awarded to female actors.
